MUar columbarium

The facility for 20,000 urns and 5 parlors is located in Muar, a small town in Johor with a significant Malaysian Chinese population. The striking feature of the architecture is its sloping roof, which is made of reinforced concrete and composed of multiple layers, providing a sense of depth and texture. The building facade is made of bamboo, a lasting and meaningful material that symbolizes the cycle of life and death.

Our vision for this facility is to offer comfort and solace to those who have lost loved ones. The space is designed to be open, voluminous, and full of light and shadow, creating a peaceful and reflective environment for visitors. Our hope is that the architecture, with its unique features and materials, will serve as a source of inspiration and healing for all who visit.
